In 2020, during lockdown, I made a micro-short documentary film about my oldest friend, my bear, TEDDY.

I was honestly surprised and touched by how many people reached out to tell me that it connected for them. And then they wanted to tell me about the special toy they had as a child (and in some cases, they still had it).

As the film festival run for TEDDY was winding down, I realized we could do a little more. The idea for the TEDDY INITIATIVE was born from realizing that all of these interactions were so positive and that while we all come from different places and had different toys — the meaning they had for us is a shared thing, a place where we can find common ground.
